It is one of the most frequent questions I get asked during presentations and in summer. "Does my Colour Type change in summer when I am suntanned?"

Two sisters with similar features but vastly different skin undertones: one is cool and the other one is warm. Animation studios such as Disney, Pixar and Studio Ghibli are experts in colour theory and the Munsell colour system. In films colours are often used to inform the viewer about characters’ personalities as well as characters' development.

There are people who believe that their Colour Type (CT) is inferior (or superior) to another CT. Why is that?

There are families where the members belong to the same Colour Type (CT) or neighbouring CTs. And there are families where every single member has a different CT: mum, dad and the children have quite distinct CTs from one another.

The Light Spring Colour Type is slightly warm (neutral-warm), light in value and medium bright in chroma. The colours are light, bright, fresh and full of light. Do they remind you of french macaroons?

After exploring the different shades of red, green and orange, let’s have a look at another primary colour: yellow. Yellow is a colour of positivity, sunshine as well as caution. There is a shade of yellow for each Colour Type, including the cool colour types.

Warm/True Spring colours are bright, absolutely warm and medium to medium-light in value. Think of a blossoming spring garden. The grass is bright fresh green, the tulips are orange red, the dandelions are bright warm yellow.

What are the colours that make a Bright/Clear Winter look sick, sweaty, invisible, lacking energy and incompetent? What colours give a Bright/Clear Winter an unhealthy yellow skin tone, dim her eyes, melt the contour of her lips, show the third chin and make the face look swollen and puffy?
