Bright/Clear Spring Mood Board
Spring is in the air! The right time to introduce the Bright Spring mood board I have been working on!
I have decided to create (at least) one mood board for each of the 12 Colour Types using cut-outs from recent fashion, lifestyle and beauty magazines. I want to capture the essence of each Colour Type using the latest fashion and trends. I want to show how each and every Colour Type is modern, trendy, fashionable and chic, simply “in vogue”.
Everything in the picture is a Bright/Clear Spring colour. The cut-outs, the colour fans, the colour of the paper as well as the colour of the background drapes. At first glance, the mood board should give you the overall feel for the Bright/Clear Spring colouring. Upon second and third viewing, you will be able to focus on the details. The accessories, lipstick colours, colour combinations, materials etc.
Some colour analysts believe that the Bright/Clear Spring Colour Type is the rarest Colour Type. I haven’t had a Bright/Clear Spring client yet, however, I have had Warm/True Spring as well as Light Spring clients. Bright/Clear Spring colours are medium-warm, absolutely bright and medium to medium-light in value. The colours are bright, vivacious, saturated, kissed by the sun and neither too light nor too dark in value: bright red, brigh orange, bright yellow, electric green, periwinkle, emerald turquioise, bright aqua, bright coral, coral pink, bright pink, light warm beige.
Metals for Clear/Bright Spring are best when polished and gold as well as a combination of gold and silver are excellent choices. Materials should ideally have a polished surface and reflect light rather than absorb it (see the watches, silk skirt, green handbag, jacket, yellow evening gown, the model’s earring). Examples of such materials include patent leather, silk, polished metals, precious polished stones, shiny leather, sequins, plastic… All that reflects light or creates a wet finish (or wet effect) looks excellent on Bright/Clear Springs.
The model in the top left corner could be a Bright/Clear Spring indeed. She is quite high in contrast (which should be mirrored in her makeup and accessories - Bright/Clear Spring is not here for the nude lip trend!), has sparkling bright blue eyes, her hair and skin seem neutral-to-medium-warm (but not absolutely warm and not cool) and the bright emerald green earring doesn’t steal the show at all - her face is still at the centre of attention (such an earring on a muted Colour Type would be the ONLY thing you see!).
Do you believe that Bright/Clear Spring is the rarest Colour Type? Do you know your best and worst colours and their combinations? Would Bright/Spring colours suit you or are these the colours you should avoid? How about your best materials? Do you look better in materials that reflect or absorb light? Style Identity is here for you to find your optimal colour palette, your contrast levels, your best materials as well as your most flattering silhouettes.
