Is Personal Colour And Body Type Analysis For You? (Part 1)
Before I attempt to answer who benefits most from Style Identity services, I decided to flip the premise and think about people, who would NOT benefit from the services.
Personal Colour Analysis (PCA) and Image Archetype Analysis (IAA) is NOT for you:
A) … if you won’t buy any clothes, shoes, accessories and make-up ever again. Zero future purchase.
Perhaps you are in your golden years and your wardrobe is full of clothes you love. You know you won’t need any new items in the future. You plan to work with what you already own and you are happy about it.
Exception:
You have so many clothes and you don’t know what to do with them. You need to downsize and sort them out. Perhaps you want your life to be more organised, perhaps you want to become a minimalist, perhaps you want to move to a smaller apartment or perhaps you are ready to sell items from your wardrobe to earn some extra cash. PCA and IAA would provide the necessary know-how that would help you make the most of your current wardrobe. You would identify items that suit you best, i.e. items to keep and wear in the future as well as items that suit you less. Knowing why a particular item suits you less gives you a peace of mind when you decide to sell, donate or recycle it.
B) … if you rarely interact with other people and you absolutely don’t care about how you look.
You don’t care about aesthetics, how you look and your impression on others. Perhaps you work alone in nature or perhaps you work with animals and you rarely interact with other humans. Knowing your ideal colours and silhouettes would be of a little benefit to you. In your line of work, you wouldn’t benefit from the power of colour psychology either. You are happy the way things are.
C) … if you wear a uniform 24/7 without any possibility to alter the uniform. In addition to that, you don’t or can’t wear makeup.
If you work nearly 24/7 and have to wear a uniform that has a set-in-stone colour and cut, the know-how of your ideal colours and silhouettes might not be of a great benefit to you. Your opportunities to practice what you have learned with Style Identity will be limited. You love your job and the uniform you wear.
Exception:
At PCA you can learn how to combat the negative effects of the colour of your uniform on your face by wearing the right makeup colours and accessories (assuming you are allowed to wear makeup and accessories).
These are the main three categories of people that would not benefit from PCA and IAA. In addition to that, I do not recommend PCA for children younger than 11 years as they might not enjoy sitting that long in front of a mirror and might not be interested in the learning process. Similarly, IAA should be performed once the client has reached adulthood and the physical growth process has finished. Everyones growth cycle is different. You will be on the safe side to have your IAA in your early / mid twenties or later.
On the 1st of February I will publish Is Personal Colour and Body Type Analysis For You? (Part 2). The Part 2 blogpost will provide a detailed overview of people who benefit from PCA and IAA the most.
